Splitting Segments

If it becomes necessary for a single record to be separated into multiple sections because they represent different characteristics (pavement class, condition, etc.), then a Split can be performed.

To split the segment, first select a single segment only using one of the map tools.

Click on "Edit".

Click on Split.

Edit pins will appear on each end of the segment. Click on a pin to active the split tool.

Next, click on the location of the segment where the split will occur.

The display will update to indicate the extents of the two new segments to be created.

When complete, click “Save Geometry”.

The two resulting segments will be immediately placed into edit mode so that you can update relevant record values, such as the From and To Segment Names.

Note that the source repair and survey records will be associated with both new pavement segments.

It is recommended that the Refresh Map Data command is used directly after Pavement segment geometry edits to ensure the edits are properly reflected in the map and detail views.
